[edit] Resource Based System

Author: Warpi

This project is to define how a society could work using resource credits. Below you have the links where all development is being made:

[edit] W & H

  • What?

A better working social system.

  • Why?

The monetary system is the cause of the most problems in society and therefore a new system is a must.

  • How?

By changing from monetary system to a resource based system.

  • When?
    • 1. First the idea of a "resource based system" must be complete and every piece of the puzzle below must be accurately peer-reviewed in respect of pros and cons.
    • 2. A transition plan must be created.
    • 3. Then presentation material must be created to make it easy for people to understand why this system will work better and why they should be engaged.
    • 4. Finally to implement the system in to reality.

[edit] This Is How It Works

  • 1. You create a new currency called "resource credit".
  • 2. The amount of resource credits that is created centrally each month is for example determined from the amount of renewable energy produced (within a region).
  • 3. The credits is then shared between all citizens (but not equally, more about this later).
  • 4. Resource credits can only be saved (with a rate of -10%/year) or used to purchase stuff from "open companies".
  • 5. The region is earning money through producing excess and you can exchange your resource credits to money, but not the other way around.
  • 6. For each transaction made between a "open company" and another one, there will be a fee of 50%. This is to make sure that the money will be less and less worth the further from the consumer it is spent.

[edit] Consumption

  • 1. Products are bought from "open companies" using resource credits.
  • 2. The price of the product is determined of its production and recycling cost in energy. Additions (such as pure economic profit) do not exist.
  • 3. Raw material and energy price is determined by the supply/demand (floating).
  • 4. There will be no cycle consumption.

This will result in cost efficient, environmentally good and lasting products.

[edit] Business Enterprise

  • 1. All business enterprises is driven through "open companies".
  • 2. All citizens can apply to start an "open company".
  • 3. The "open company" employees are not paid from the employer, but from a central pool with resource credits.
  • 4. From an "open company" it is required that they produce results for the citizen and could be presented for the branch committee.
  • 5. The amount of employees in the company is determined between the company management and the branch committee.

The "open companies" will probably have a high degree of automation (with some exceptions) because this results in a very effective production and makes it an attractive work place for the open company workers.

[edit] Work

  • 1. All citizens will receive a basic income.
  • 2. To obtain maximum salary in resource credits, you are required to work/study a certain amount of hours every week (there is exceptions concerning parents with children, senior citizen etc...). The goal is to reduce this time.
  • 3. You can choose to work at which "open company" you want that have open slots. If you can't find that open company you want to work in, you can find another open company for the duration until that slot for the original open company you wanted to sign up for was available for you.

This will probably result in excess of work places which all work to improve the standard of living for everyone.

[edit] Branch Committees

  • 1. Every "open company" is divided in to different branches.
  • 2. Every branch consists of one or several committees.
  • 3. Within every branch there should always exist one or more expert committees which consists of interested citizen.
  • 4. The committees assignment is to approve starting open companies and keep track of "open companies" within their branch so that they are keeping the "open companies" approved and standard. Without an approval standard, the "open company" can be shut down.
  • 5. Approved standard means that the "open companies" sustain high efficiency, preferably using automation and being an attractive employer. The standard shall be put on a good level so that there is always a lot of employees to choose from for the citizen.
  • 6. All citizens are allowed to participate in the committees he or she feels interested in. The longer you have participated in a committee, the more your vote is worth.

Branch committees are structured forms of direct democracy where a citizen chooses what committees to participate in and the more experienced members will have more power.

[edit] The Government

  • 1. Laws and regulations is always backed up with scientific data. This data is accessible for the public and citizens are able to repeal laws and regulation if those repeals can be back up scientifically as well.
  • 2. The decision is made through a computer system which is fed with information from the citizen.
  • 3. Public organizations; such as police, firemen, schools is run just like "open companies" and is examined by the relevant branch committees.
  • 4. The Government will also act as a credit pool as well.

[edit] Purchasing From The Rest Of The World

Because there is a need of purchasing exclusive products globally and to be able to travel, there is need for the region to earn money. This will be done through selling the excess that will be produced by the "open companies".

[edit] People With Better Living Standard With This System

  • 1. Big focus on using automation methods on all fields and keeping the quality high.
  • 2. No economic stress.
  • 3. Much greater possibilities of choosing a workplace.
  • 4. Because companies aren't competing with each-other directly, there is a much greater potential for them to be open (don't have to invent the wheel).
  • 5. Employees don't have to make themselves indispensable since there is no longer a reason for that and can instead focus on what is relevant.
  • 6. "Open Companies" don't have to make themselves indispensable since they will earn on solving problems permanently (other ways they just have to do more).
  • 7. There is never a reason for an "open company" to create a problem in the society.
  • 8. There is never a reason for a company to create a product that breaks down fast.
  • 9. Naturally, an overcapacity will be constructed and it could be put in when for example a nature disaster strikes.
  • 10. Laws and regulations will be based on the people's knowledge instead of what a select few think.

[edit] Differences With Capitalism

  • 1. All citizens get the same amount of energy credits (there is no classes).
  • 2. Completely environmentally good (since the cost of energy credits include the complete life-cycle of a product).
  • 3. The individual chooses themselves which "open company" he/she wants to work.
  • 4. You never own anything, you do have exclusive user-ship instead.
  • 5. You can never bribe or pay anything to do anything for you (eliminating crime, fraud, corrupt and the like).
  • 6. No business cycles.
  • 7. No unemployment.
  • 8. There is no economic reasons to commit crimes (for example thefts, scams and the like).

[edit] Differences With Communism

  • 1. It is not the government who determines what products shall be available.
  • 2. As an individual, you can create you own "open company".
  • 3. There is no rations-card.
  • 4. There is not only one brand of toothpaste etc.... There is going to be just as many as today if not more.
